Nashville Diaries: An Update

It's been a hot minute since I've posted about what I've been doing professionally (partly because it's been busy- yay!) In case you don't obsessively follow my instagram, here's what I've been up to the last three months:

Sessions/Weekend Runs

After getting off tour in December I took some much need time relaxing. I turned down any longer runs, and stuck with just a few short out of town shows. Those included a few shows with my favorite cover band on earth The Downtown Band , country artist Jackson Lawrence, and a few others.

I also spent some quality time in the recording studio cutting tracks for a few artists. One of the exciting moments was when Billboard Magazine published a list hot country artists in 2018 and one of the artists I cut Hammond organ for was on the list! Another exciting moment was when the band A Thousand Miles released their debut album that I played keys on to good reviews.

One of the new additions to the studio: a vintage 1963 Baldwin upright piano.

Yamaha Sends A Montage Synth, Endorsements

Yamaha reached out to me earlier this year about working with them to help integrate MainStage better with their flagship Montage synth, and I got the keyboard delivered a few weeks ago (Look to have me blog about this in the future). I also became an endorsed musician with Stage Tech Solutions, maker of my favorite keep-my-sustain-pedal-from-slipping piece of gear, the Foot Junkie (again, review to come soon). I love geeking out over keyboards and gear!

This thing looks good as the center of a studio.

TV Appearances

I was several TV shows over the last few months with country artist John Berry, including filming with a 12 talented classic country singer songwriters on Heartland Network's "Songs And Stories" TV show, which begins airing in April. I also appeared with John on the Mike Huckabee Show debuting his new single, "Beautifully Broken". Here's the coverage of that:

Grand Ole Opry Appearance

I was lucky enough to also appear on the Grand Ole Opry stage with John. It's amazing to get to just be around so much history, and such amazing musicians.

Being at the Opry seems like hanging out with friends that all happen to love music as much as you do.

Other Tidbits

I'm still helping to run the music meet up group in Nashville Balanced Breakfast, and if you're ever in town you you're welcome to send me an email and I'll let you know when/where we're meeting that week. I'm also playing as regularly as I can at my church, Church Of The City. Sarah and I attend the East Nashville campus, and love it so much.

If I haven't heard from you in awhile, drop me a line- I love catching up!
