Simple and Hard

I am not a naturally talented musician.

I'd argue that most successful musicians aren't. In fact, raw talent has very little to do with most people's career success.

What does set musicians (or any professional) apart from the pack is a few simple things that anyone can develop:

1. Keep going.
2. Prepare.
3. Show up.
4. Practice really, really hard. And then practice some more.

It really is that simple. And that hard.
