MainStage Mondays: mapping the onscreen controls to your keyboard

Sometimes the most obvious things aren’t so obvious. Looking back through my blogs, I realized I never covered the most basic aspect of MainStage: mapping the onscreen faders, knobs, and buttons to your physical keyboard/midi controller. Here’s how to do it: 

1. Open MainStage. Select a Concert.

2. Click on a MainStage control. You should see a blue outline around the knob.

3. Click Assign and Map. The ring around the controller should turn red. 

4. Move the midi controller on your keyboard that you want to control the onscreen control. 

That’s it- you’re done!
