Should I Go To College For Music?
I recently had someone ask me about going to college and majoring in music. What did I think? This launched into a lengthy conversation where I monologued about my thoughts on higher education, colleges, and the importance of self-directed learning.
Don’t worry, you won’t have to listen to me ramble. Instead, I’m having two smarter people than I sum up my view.
The first is Seth Godin. He’s a visionary entrepreneur and marketing expert, and I feel has a pulse on the future of business more accurately than most. He wrote a free book about education’s role in the 21st century, and gave an amazing TED talk about it last year. Here’s the video:
